I ordered the Type 2/3 NOS wood hanguards for my Bulgarian rifle. They arrived on time and the lower HG looked as expected but the upper HG had the finish completely stripped. Seeing as this is NOS, I know it can be a mixed bag. However, since the HGs do not match, I do not know how to refinish wood let alone make them match, I can't use either atm. Maybe this can be a project for later. Thank you.
